51 reasons to travel by bike

Mengham Junior School pupils took part in a “Cycle Quiz” to think of as many good reasons as possible for traveling by bicycle. They came up with a fabulous total of 51 reasons why. Parliamentary group calls for urgent action on cycling

The All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group has just issued a report calling for urgent action on cycling.

One clear message is the need for consistent funding. While Dutch cities reap “massive economic benefits from consistent cycling investment”, now at £24 a head, outside of London in England less than £2 is spent, it says, while Scotland and Wales recently increased cycling spending. Visiting Hayling Island with your bike

Some of the finest views, picnic spots and beaches on the Island are best enjoyed by bicycle. For instance, most of the Island’s western shore, with its superb views across Langstone Harbour and unrivalled birdwatching, is only accessible by bike on foot or on horseback. And cycling along Hayling’s seafront lets you enjoy the excellent beach facilities without having to pay parking charges.
